WHY IS ELYX BOTTLE STRENGTH AT 42.3% ABV?
Just as much care is taken here as at the start of the process. First, the fine spirit is blended with more of our pristine water to reduce it to a bottling strength of 42.3% ABV. We specifically chose this bottling strength, which is higher than most other vodka brands, because at this ABV the character of Elyx can be enjoyed in the best possible way. What’s more, at this higher strength, Elyx makes the most sublime martinis, with standout character and the smoothest finish.
THE USE OF REVERSE OSMOSIS FOR OUR PURE WATER
Water used in vodka production needs to be demineralised to prevent it from turning cloudy. There are different ways to do this, and the purer the water, the less processing is required. After taking thousands of years to naturally filter through the chalk limestone bedrock, our water is already incredibly pure with an exceptional quality and structure, but to ensure our vodka is always crystal clear we still gently demineralise it using reverse osmosis. This retains more of the water’s original character, allowing the true taste and mouthfeel to come through.
FINALLY FILLING WITH CARE IN OUR DISTINCT ELYX BOTTLES
Only now is the diluted fine spirit ready to be filled into our distinctive bottles. Made by Ardagh Glass in Limmared, these feature a clear glass with copper details design that reflects both the manual copper distillation and the pure taste of the liquid inside.
Attention to detail is just as important here as elsewhere, so every bottle is first checked meticulously for faults and then rinsed with Elyx, so these are the only traces left in the bottle. Once filled, they are checked one last time to ensure every bottle of Elyx that leaves the distillery does so in perfect condition.
From our small distillery on the waterfront in Åhus, Absolut Elyx is now ready to be distributed to the four corners of the world.
